WITH international and domestic carriers plying 70 international and domestic air routes (including to 23 cities in China), getting to Hainan has never been easier. And getting around the island once you have arrived for your holiday or business conference can be quick and convenient.

Hainan is served by two international airports -- Meilan in Haikou and Phoenix in Sanya. Meilan, which is one of the eight largest airports in China, is open to flights to and from Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Burma as well as to the capitals of key provinces and cities of China. Phoenix is open to flights to and from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Seoul, Osaka, Tokyo, Siberia, Macau and Hong Kong.

In addition, Hainan is served by ferries to and from Guangdong Province and is criss-crossed by a network of expressways, highways and roads connecting all major centres.
