Entering the Fanmao Li Nationality Village is much like stepping through a doorway into a very different world.

Located in the mountains just north of Tongza City, the village gives visitors the unique opportunity to see the traditional costumes, music and dance of the Li people in an environment characterised by the traditional boat-shaped cottages. Li women are celebrated masters of spinning, weaving and embroidering using the simplest of tools.
