No visit to central Hainan is complete without a stop-off at the lively and colourful Maoan Miao Nationality Village.

Located near the banks of the Dou River just 15 km from Tongza City, the village offers travellers a unique view on the customs and culture of the indigenous Miao people. Of special note is the annual festival of March 3 when young men and women use traditional song and dance to express their feelings of intimacy and love.
