Each rising up to a height of 20 m, the twin pagodas of Meiting Township in Chengmai County offer travellers a rare opportunity to enjoy classic Song Dynasty sculpture.

The pagodas, which are decorated with images of Buddha, are set on large platforms and surrounded by water. The platforms themselves are decorated with relief carvings of elephant, lion, tiger and horse. The Meilang Twin Pagodas are viewed as an important historic relic and are protected by the State.
