Crowned by an old military stronghold, Liulian Ridges is a jagged forest-covered series of six rocky crests about 60 km north of Wanning City. Liulian, which means "six in one", gets its name from the formation of its six ridges in a single line.
Listed as one of the eight scenic spots of the Wanning area, Liulian Ridges is also noted for a large cave situated atop one of the ridges that is capable of holding as many as 100 people. Because the cave has fresh spring water, it was used by the Chinsese army and is sometimes called Red Army Cave. |
